‘Naked Before the World’

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

On Imogen’s IMDb she is rumoured to be playing the lead role in Naked Before the World, this is the first time I’ve heard of this project and Imogen’s involvement. Here’s the synopsis given:

In ’69 the innocent Katya begins studying art in a small Majorcan village full of both establishment types and hippies, artists, and womanizers. When she falls in love with the hippest of the hippies, she has to choose between two worlds.

Bouquet of Barbed Wire Episode 1

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

Last night premiered the first episode of Bouquet of Barbed Wire, I taped my copy and have added captures of it to the gallery. It was fantastic to see Imogen in a leading role playing the somewhat naive Prue, the production is filled with tension and great performances from all the cast – and with two more episodes to go it’s definately going to get much darker.

‘Daily Mail’ Interview

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Due to the soon-to-be-released-on-DVD Solitary Man and Bouquet of Barbed Wire Imogen has been doing more interviews with the papers, one of which is ‘The Daily Mail’:

It’s very difficult to shock an audience today.

We’ve become such a liberal society, and it’s inevitable that of hilarious antics going on, but the sad thing is there aren’t ever that many. I’ve just been filming Fright Night in Albuquerque. It’s an intelligent vampire comedy – which I know sounds ridiculous – with Colin Farrell as the main vampire, and we all started to find things funny that weren’t funny at all because we were alone in this weird, desolate, mountainous landscape.

A Bouquet of Barbed Wire

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

After seeing an increase of adverts for A Bouquet of Barbed Wire deemed ‘Coming Soon’ it is nice to finally find a release date for the first episode of the mini-series – Monday, 6 September 2010, 9:00PM – 10:00PM. I for one really can’t wait to see it and Imogen’s performance in what is deemed to be a deep and controversial film. You can view a trailer for the mini-series below.

It has also been reported on the net that the Spiderman role Imogen is reportedly going for is that of Gwen Stacey.

”Christopher and His Kind’ Preview

Friday, July 16th, 2010

It’s got a good bit of Imogen in it – take a look.

‘Fright Night’

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

Girl just won’t take a break (and that’s a good thing). Heat Vision Blog is running that Imogen has been cast in Fright Night, which is expressing a cast with the likes of Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Poots will play Yelchin’s girlfriend, part of the popular crowd and unaware of his earlier life as a nerd.

We haven’t really seen Imogen in a horror since 28 Weeks Later (and soon Chatroom) so as a horror fan I’m looking forward to this – the cast speaks for itself which hopefully means it won’t be like other remakes that fail to deliver.

‘A Bouquet of Barbed Wire’

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Apparently a trailer for A Bouquet of Barbed Wire has been on the internet for months so I guess I’ve been too obtuse in the fact that I’ve missed it when it’s been everywhere. The only site that did have it has now taken it down (good ol’ ITV) and I feel upset that I’ve missed it as it’s the project of Imogen’s I’m most looking forward to – so if anyone finds it again – let me know! Otherwise I’ve added two images related to it.

‘Christopher And His Kind’

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Yet another new role for Imogen in Christopher And His Kind has been announced where she’ll be acting alongside current Doctor Who star Matt Smith. Smith will play English novelist Christopher Isherwood – Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later, Solitary Man) stars as Jean Ross, an aspiring actress and singer who provided Christopher with the inspiration for the Sally Bowles character of Cabaret fame.

The hedonistic Berlin cabaret scene is in full swing when a young and wide-eyed Christopher Isherwood arrives in the city, unable to speak a word of German, to stay with his close friend, Auden. To Isherwood’s reserved English sensibility, the city’s thriving gay subculture is thrilling and intoxicating. But Christopher soon finds himself heartbroken after the failure of a hopeless love affair, and so sets out on a process of self-discovery.

It sounds like a mature role for Imogen, I love the fact that she keeps to her British roots and does such projects like A Bouquet of Barbed Wire but also does more mainstream films. I’ve never come across Christopher Isherwood before and so it would be a good chance to read up on his life – it is no doubt controversial or scandelous as that is the BBC’s forte. It’s currently filming in Belfast, so it may be on British screens in autumn or winter time.

‘Relative Desire’

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

I’ve found yet another project that Imogen seems linked to called Relative Desire alongside Harry Treadaway. It seems to be a small budget project that is set to film this year, though you can find more about it here.

This contemporary fast‐paced and time‐twisting, thriller sets
Jean, nineteen and pregnant, on the road to find her estranged
mother, Paula. A compelling journey that starts with death and
destruction and takes Jean from an Army barracks via a
Midsummer Solstice Festival to an isolated farm house for the
final confrontation with her newly found family.
